The Bump Family
The idea to become foster parents started about seven years ago when John and Krista Bump were going through the painful experience of infertility.
They discussed the possibility of adopting, but John suggested fostering as an alternative.
However, Krista wasn’t sure. She just
didn’t like the idea of taking in children and then giving them back. “It just seemed too painful to consider,” Krista said.
Finally after much prayer they took the step of faith into foster parenting, which has grown into a heartfelt passion for children in need.
“Foster parenting hasn’t always been easy, but God has certainly called us to this ministry. God has always been faithful to heal my heart every time we have to give one of our foster children back who has been adopted or reunited
with their birth family,” Krista said.
John and Krista live in Tallahassee and have two biological children:
a 17 year old daughter and a 5 year old son. In all they have cared for 11 children since becoming foster parents in 2008.
