Kim & Jerry Senterfitt

Laurel Hill residents Kim & Jerry Senterfitt have ministered to more than 60 children in the 10 years they have been foster parents for Florida Baptist Children’s Homes. The couple lives on a 180-acre farm in this northwest Florida community north of Fort Walton Beach. She owns and operates The Hair Barn where she works as a cosmetologist. Jerry is employed by Okaloosa School Board.

The Senterfitts believe that the Lord has called them to this task, and they love helping children and families who need their assistance. Most of the boys and girls who stay at their home call them “Mama Kim” and “Daddy Jerry.”

Cheyenne is now in the Senterfitt home for the second time; the first placement was about four years ago. When Cheyenne needed help again, she said, “Please take me to Mama Kim’s house.” When asked what she thinks about Daddy Jerry, she replied, “He’s a really good foster dad. He takes good care of us. He lets us go to the barn with him to feed the cows. He lets us pet the baby calves. I love him.”
