Mission Backpack
Help provide disadvantaged and orphaned children
with a backpack and school supplies!
What is Mission Backpack?
Mission Backpack is an effort to collect backpacks and other school supplies throughout Florida for children in the care of the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes and for disadvantaged and orphaned children in targeted locations in the developing world.
The backpacks will be distributed to children in Florida and in targeted locations in the developing world including Guatemala, Honduras, Haiti, Russia, and Romania.
Mission Backpack is a partnership between the Florida Baptist Children’s Homes, Orphan Outreach and Moody Radio. The goal is to collect 5,000 backpacks and various quantities of school supplies. We need every size and type of backpack including messenger style bags and tote bags.
The more organizations that participate in helping to promote and collect backpacks the more backpacks we will be able to provide to abused, neglected, and orphaned children.
The Mission Backpack drive in Florida will take place from July 20 to August 8. |
Why collect backpacks?
One of the greatest things that we can provide a disadvantaged child is hope and a future. Education is a critical pathway to a life beyond the cycle of poverty and destructive lifestyles.
Something as simple as a backpack and school supplies shows a child that they matter and that people care about them.
In addition, a backpack can create enthusiasm and excitement for school in the hearts of children that before may have felt only hopelessness due to their situation.

Crayons or washable markers
Pencil case (Heavy Duty with zipper)
Colored pencils
Blue or Black medium point pens
Glue
Scissors
